April Member of the Month: Chelsea Wise.
Chelsea is a vocal community advocate in the Richmond area. She joined MRAYD this year, and we are fortunate to have her!  In the past decade, she has managed a range of operations that support Virginians with mental, behavioral, and intellectual disabilities.

Chelsea earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work at Longwood University and completed her Master of Social Work Degree at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Currently, Chelsea serves RVA as a Program Manager for a community-based mental health provider, Leaders For Life, Inc. She also finds time to be an outspoken advocate for healthcare and recently joined Lieutenant Governor Ralph Northam and Governor Terry McAuliffe to fight for women’s reproductive rights.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, she partnered with Saadia’s Juice Box in Richmond to host a sanitary drive for women and girls experiencing homelessness. The successful effort packaged over 200 care bags in two weeks.

Chelsea’s pride and joy is her 3-year old princess. She loves hearing her laugh and spending time with the rest of her family. Chelsea is also a leader in the local chapter of NAACP, a HandsOn Richmond 2017 Power of Good nominee and a dedicated Crossfitter.
