Fun-loving Tavarris Spinks served as MRAYD President for four terms, beginning in 2012 and is still an active member today.
Born and raised in Richmond, he is also a proud Ram with over a decade of experience in finance, consumer protection and advocacy. While at VCU he started working at a consumer bankruptcy law firm and after graduation became a bankruptcy specialist. He participated in firm outreach which included volunteering with educational programs for young adults for best uses of credit, how to dispute and fix a credit report, and household budgeting.
Tavarris is a constant supporter of democratic candidates and has been active with progressive advocacy and the Democratic Party for over 15 years. In that he has knocked on over 10,000 doors and made even more phone calls for dozens of Democratic and progressive candidates. More impressively, he has a lifetime of experience tearing up the dance floor.
