Liz Childress Burneson currently serves as Richmond Chair for MRAYD, and she is no stranger to community service. She hails from Bedford County, but has been a proud resident of RVA for over five years.
Liz is a rising 3L at University of Richmond Law where she serves as President of a civic engagement club focused on voter registration and voting rights. Virginia Young Democrats appointed Liz to represent young voters across the Commonwealth on the Democratic Party of Virginia’s Voter Protection Council.
Liz also serves as the Chair of the Governor’s Advisory Board on Service and Volunteerism. The board advises the governor on both national service programs (AmeriCorps) and local community service, and also leads statewide efforts to encourage Virginians to volunteer in their communities.
Liz leads by example by giving generously of her time and skills to local organizations, including the Richmond Equality Bar Association and Greater Richmond SCAN.
