Virginia Young Democrats Day of Action

The Supreme court struck down the formula that decided which areas are covered by Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act in Shelby County vs. Holder. The purpose of Section 5 was to provide a way to stop discrimination in voting laws before they went into effect. H.R. 3899 seeks to fix this issue.

On September 10, 2014 VAYD is urging all young and young at heart democrats to call their congressmen and voice support for H.R. 3899. If you are willing to join your voice to ours click here.
