Welcome to the Metro Richmond Area Young Democrats (MRAYD), a vibrant and diverse group of young progressives dedicated to making a positive impact in our community and beyond. We are a coalition of energetic and politically engaged individuals from the cities of Richmond and Petersburg, Virginia — and the surrounding counties of Henrico, Chesterfield, Hanover, and Powhatan.
The purpose of MRAYD is to support and elect candidates of the Democratic Party, to increase the role of young people in local Democratic committees, to encourage more pluralistic participation in the Democratic Party, and to increase the role for women, people of color, and other under-represented people in our government, society, and party.
Our members are the heart of our organization. They are students, professionals, activists, and community leaders who come together to effect change. Through our various initiatives, campaigns, and events, we strive to engage in meaningful political action, provide educational opportunities, and foster a supportive network for young Democrats.
We believe in the power of youth to shape a brighter future. Our efforts are focused on empowering young voices, advocating for progressive policies, and creating a more inclusive and equitable society. As we continue to grow and evolve, we remain steadfast in our mission to be a beacon of hope and progress in our community.
